IT Committee Discussion. Rupe Owens led this
discussion of the proposed IT committee.
In light of recent issues faced with previous ISPs the IA website has struggled to try to regain its full functionality.
There are many issues that need governance to provide the webmaster with the priorities needed to bring the website back up to 100%.
The recommendations are:
- develop an IT Committee
- define a mission objective statement for the IA to drive the website and its functionality to support the IA mission objectives.
Vote was held and unanimously approved to establish IT Committee with the Secretary as the Committee Chair and for the Secretary to enlist the support of 2-3 other members to sit on the committee.

Whidbey Gateway Park. Rupe Owens
led this discussion with information and materials provided by Dave
Williams.
The City of Oak Harbor has an A-6 on loan from the National Naval Aviation Museum.
The A-6 has spent years on City Beach and has been neglected.
The city and the Navy have agreed to refurbish and move the A-6 to the corner of the SR 20 and Ault Field Rd (where the 'Sound of Freedom' billboard resides).
Gateway committee would like the IA to act as the fund raising vehicle (primarily corporate/local business sponsors) to take advantage of tax exempt status and to use the IA website to communicate progress and invite contributions from the membership.
Gateway committee is NOT soliciting IA funding.
Goal is $100K and to be complete by 31 Oct 2006.
IA Treasurer will maintain separate accounting records for donations and expenditures
IA will ask that joint MOU between Navy and City address upkeep, site maintenance and utilities
IA President will send letter to CO, NAS Whidbey proposing contribution of donated funds for the project.
SECNAV must approve donation acceptance.
