99 INTRUDER ALL MEMBERS SQUADRON HELP ME REGISTER

Charlie Rodenberg, Departing
Published on: Sunday, February 6, 2011

99,

Marine
Intruders. It is sad to have to report that our good friend, fellow Marine,
and squadron mate, Charlie Rodenberg, has made his last
earthly launch and
no doubt, has now reported to Sky 6. The following includes information
Merlyn and the family wish to pass on to Charlie's many friends and the
Marine Intruder community. Charlie's passing has left a very
large empty
space in the daily muster, and will be missed. Alex Horster is serving as
POC for Merlyn and the family.

Just talked to Merlyn and I think the following is good
info to pass along. If anyone wants to send cards they can ping me for the
address. Sound good?

Feb 2 (2 days ago)

Our friend Charlie passed from this life this morning at
4:00 Austin time. There is, of course, a heavy burden of grief that Merlyn is
carrying but she is strengthened by her faith and the knowledge that Charlie
lived large and well. He did a good job of preparing and protecting his
family.

You can view
Charlie's obituary at:www.cookwaldenforestoaks.com. There is a
message board available for you to write personal messages in Charlie's
memory.

Merlyn has asked
that, in lieu of flowers, the family would welcome and deeply appreciate
donations to:

Christopher House
Hospice Austin

4107 Spicewood
Springs Road

Suite 100

Austin, Texas
78759

Additionally, most
of you are probably aware of the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation's program
that, in return fora $300 donation, a "brick" commemorating a fellow Marine
will be engraved and placed in the walk-ways surrounding the National Museum of
the Marine Corps in Quantico.Details can be found at the following website. http://www.marineheritage.org/BrickProgram.asp

The donor's name could read something like "USMC Comrades
in Arms" butother suggestions arewelcome. Those of you whoare interested in participating, let me know, and I will compile a list for presentation to Merlyn
and Charlie's grandkids.

It is better to have
rolled in hot and missed,

Than to never have
rolled in at all.
